Innovation in Rural Health Services Requires Local Actors and Local Action

The Aged Care in Rural Areas (ACRA) research team is interested in innovation in aged care services in rural and sparsely populated areas. ACRA members in Sweden and Australia have recently completed two literature reviews (attached) – one specifically about ‘holistic’ models of aged care in rural areas, and one more generally about local engagement in innovation in rural community-based health services (whether specifically for aged care or not). ACRA’s Australian members are keen to explore collaboration opportunities with CHS-Connect and would like to start the process with a webinar summarizing these two literature reviews. The main themes of the webinar are understanding how local actors impact implementation of innovation in rural health services and developing strategies to increase the body of scientific knowledge about local-led innovation.

When: November 17, 8.00 am CET (South Africa and Zambia 9.00 am: Tanzania and Uganda 10 am)
